Having spent most of his career in the oil and gas industry – initially with Woodside Energy and subsequently in senior management roles with Mobil and ExxonMobil in Australia and overseas – David Byers brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion to his role as Chief Executive of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association. Australian Pipeline Industry Association (APIA) President Peter Cox has spoken at APIA's annual convention and exhibition in Sydney, stating that an “unprecedented level of activity in the pipeline sector”, which could equate to $A20 billion worth of investment, is due to the expansion of the CSG projects in Queensland and the burgeoning LNG industry in Western Australia, and that "the pipeline sector...will continue in line with the increased use of gas”.
