The gas distribution industry has a regulated asset value of over $10 billion. Gas is distributed to around 4 million customer connections through over 75,000 km of gas distribution pipelines. Gas networks not only provide energy to individual households, they also enhance the efficiency, reliability and competitiveness of Australian business and industry, by providing ready access to gas at reasonable prices.

Each year the Australian Gas Industry Trust (AGIT) convenes the annual Gas Speak Colloquium. Gas Speak provides an opportunity for younger members of the gas industry to develop their communication skills and industry awareness as well as providing networking opportunities.

AGA - maintaining an industry focus
The Australian Gas Association (AGA) is best known for providing a world-class product certification service to the gas industry for around 50 years. In fact, AGA can trace its origins back to 1925. However, with a changing industry landscape over recent times, AGA customers have looked for a broadening of these services to include the certification of other “type tested” products such as plumbing (WaterMark) products and electrical items.
IGU - talkin’ gas all over the world
The International Gas Union (IGU), founded in 1931, is a worldwide non-profit organisation that aims to promote the technical and economic progress of the gas industry. Members of the IGU are associations and entities of gas industries that cover 95 per cent of global gas sales in 67 countries.
AGIT 2008 Activities
The Australian Gas Industry Trust (AGIT) is offering three Overseas Study Tour awards in 2008 to Europe. In alternate years the Study Tour focuses on Europe, North America or the Asia/Pacific.Previous Page Next Page
