APA Group’s 292 km Eastern Goldfields Gas Pipeline in Western Australia is on track to be completed this year.

“Construction of the pipe and above-ground facilities is tracking to schedule and we expect commissioning to be completed before the end of the year,” an APA Group spokesperson said.

The pipeline will deliver gas to mining operations in the Eastern Goldfields region, based on long-term agreements for APA Group to transport gas from Yarraloola to AngloGold Ashanti Australia’s Sunrise Dam and Tropicana gold mining operations.

When complete, APA will transport gas a total distance of 1,500 km to mining operations in the region through three of its interconnected pipelines – the 1,380 km Goldfields Gas Pipeline, the 84 km Murrin Murrin Lateral and the Eastern Goldfields Gas Pipeline.

A joint venture between AJ Lucas and Spiecapag Australia, Spiecapag Lucas, was awarded the construction contract for the pipeline.
