A truly whole-of-industry event, FutureGAS 2010 will reflect the business agenda of the entire industry throughout the natural gas supply chain, by featuring innovative speakers and exhibitors from all industry sectors.

FutureGAS 2010 will be held from 9–11 March at Brisbane’s Sofitel Hotel, bringing together industry leaders to tackle the issues impacting your industry, both now and into the future.

Across a two-day business program, conference delegates will hear from decision-makers across government, business, and industry associations.

As Australia grapples with its energy future, the gas industry has the opportunity to establish natural gas as the fuel of choice and push for the expansion of gas consumption in untraditional markets. FutureGAS 2010 will bring together the industry’s brightest to share their ideas about the role of gas in meeting Australia’s increasing energy demands.

Speaking at FutureGAS 2010

Queensland Minister for Natural Resources, Mines and Energy Stephen Robertson will officially open the event on Day One, which will also see the return of EnergyQuest’s Graeme Bethune and Jemena’s John van Weel, while Arrow Energy’s Robbert de Weijer will speak of the challenges Arrow faces in developing the world’s first CSG to LNG export facility at Gladstone.

Cameron O’Reilly will outline the preconditions necessary for a competitive gas retail market and Mal Hellmuth will examine the priorities for the development of Queensland’s LNG.

Brett Jarman opens proceedings on Day Two, presenting the case for natural gas vehicles in Australia before Freehills’ Renee Garner discusses managing carbon risk through contract and Jemena’s Peter Harcus reflects on the innovative 'Natural Gas. The Natural Choice' campaign.

These FutureGAS 2010 speakers and many more will bring their industry experience and expertise to the event and offer insights and perspectives sure to spark enthusiastic debate amongst delegates.

FutureGAS 2010 will open on Tuesday evening as delegates and exhibitors come together in the exhibition area to enjoy canapés and drinks. This function gives delegates the chance to speak to clients, exhibitors and colleagues in a relaxed setting.

The Gala Dinner on Wednesday evening will include a guest speaker and a delicious three-course meal. This highly enjoyable night is not to be missed and provides a great opportunity to network with your industry colleagues before getting back to business on Thursday morning.
