Santos Chairman Peter Coates has spoken out on the importance of gas in delivering an affordable energy source in Australia at the company’s Annual General Meeting. held in Adelaide.
Mr Coates said that “Developing new supplies of natural gas will be essential if Australia is to meet this demand, while keeping domestic power price rises to a minimum.”

Mr Coates also said that he would like to ‘sound a note of caution’ about recent calls for the reservation of some domestic gas resources exclusively for Australian industry.
