The Brisbane Convention Centre

APPEA 2016 is the place to be if you want to hear what is making the investment news in the oil and gas industry.

Australia’s leading oil and gas event will be staged at the Brisbane Convention Centre from 5-8 June, and will bring together the key decision makers in a must-attend event for anyone needing to keep up to speed with the latest trends in the sector.

Several successful ASX-listed companies are profiled in the 2016 APPEA Conference program.

Exclusive project updates at APPEA 2016 include:

  • AWE and Origin’s Waitsia phase-one gas development in Western Australia
  • Quadrant and Carnarvon’s Phoenix South and Roc discoveries off the north-west coast
  • Woodside’s production outlook
  • Santos’ exploration plans
  • Oil Search on PNG LNG expansion and Papua LNG greenfield developments

On Monday 6 June, AWE Limited will provide an update on the Waitsia Field in the onshore northern Perth Basin, which has the potential to be a game-changer for the Western Australia energy equation.

The following morning, Woodside Energy Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Peter Coleman will provide a producer’s perspective on the future of energy and the role of oil and gas industry in Australia.

There will be plenty of interest in Tuesday afternoon’s Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA) review session, where Santos ‎Manager Unconventional Resources Growth Stephen Kelemen will provide an overview on exploration in Australia, and Origin Energy General Manager, Exploration and New Resources Ross Evans will review production and development activities across Australia.

In a technical presentation, Carnarvon Petroleum will discuss one of Australia’s brightest new exploration plays, the Lower Triassic section of the North West Shelf where the recent Phoenix South and Roc discoveries were made.

On Wednesday afternoon, Oil Search Executive General Manager Keiran Wulff will give a presentation on Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) untapped potential.

Oil Search might soon participate in both an expansion of the PNG LNG project and the construction of the proposed Papua LNG project, which is on target to become PNG’s second LNG project.
