Retrofit work is continuing at the West Tuna platform, also located in the Kipper Gas Field.
The Kipper Gas Field, located in the Bass Strait, offshore Victoria, is a joint venture between BHP, ExxonMobil subsidiary Esso Australia as operator and Santos. BHP has advised that ExxonMobil will undertake a review of the project’s budget.
Also in the Bass Strait, the Turrum Field is on schedule and on budget, with platform fabrication continuing. The field is a 50-50 joint venture between BHP and Esso as operator.
The report also stated that the Pyrenees Gas Project, in which the company holds a 71.4 per cent stake, is on schedule and budget, with the floating production storage and offtake (FPSO) vessel arriving on location and continuing commissioning activities. Nine wells have been completed so far at the project: seven producers, one gas injector and one water injector, and the project’s production capacity stands at 96,000 bbl/d of oil and 60 MMcf/d of gas.

BHP has a 16.76 per cent interest in the Woodside Petroleum-operated Wanaea Cossack Lambert Hermes (WCLH) Oil Complex and North Rankin 2 platform, both located offshore Western Australia. The company has reported that the WCLH project is on schedule and on budget, with FPSO conversion continuing. Jacket fabrication is continuing ahead of schedule at North Rankin 2.
