Woodside have awarded the Karratha Gas Plant services contract to MGJV

MGJV has secured a new contract for services on the Woodside-operated Karratha Gas Plant Life Extension Program, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

A joint venture between Monadelphous Group and Giovenco Industries has secured a new contract for services on the Woodside-operated Karratha Gas Plant life extension program in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The joint venture will provide a range of services to the program including the planning and execution of mechanical, electrical, access, fire protection application, blasting and printing, cladding and insulation services.

The contract is scheduled to commence in early 2016 for a two-year period.

Monadelphous Managing Director Rob Velletri said “The award of this contract represents another major milestone for our oil and gas services business and demonstrates our reputation as a partner of choice in the provision of LNG services.

“Monadelphous has a long-term commitment to the Karratha region and we are particularly pleased to be selected together with our joint venture partner Giovenco as a services provider for this important program of works.

Monadelphous has provided project, shutdown and maintenance services to Woodside since 2002.

The North West Shelf Project’s Karratha Gas Plant features five LNG processing trains, two domestic gas trains, six condensate stabilisation units, three LPG fractionation units as well as storage and loading facilities for LNG, LPG and condensate.

The plant has the capacity to produce 12,000 t/d of domestic gas.

The North West Shelf (NWS) Project is owned by the NWS Joint Venture, comprising BHP Billiton Petroleum (North West Shelf), BP Developments Australia, Chevron Australia, Japan Australia LNG (MIMI), Shell Development (Australia) and operator Woodside Energy.
