The proposed project will involve utilising the large potential resources of conventional and unconventional gas contained within Western Australia’s Canning Basin, including gas contained within Oil Basins’ acreage and that of its joint venture partners.

Within the onshore portion of the Canning Basin, Oil Basins holds 90 per cent beneficial rights to Backreef Area and a 50 per cent interest in 5/07-8 EP.

LNG Limited Managing Director Maurice Brand said “The company continues to research three locations around Australia where the potential exists for LNG projects, utilising conventional and/or unconventional gas supply.

“The Kimberley region is one such location that could benefit from the company’s business model and optimised single mixed refrigerant liquefaction technology,” Mr Brand said.
