This year sees the event travel to Perth from 11 – 14 October. In addition, the APIA is celebrating 40years of operation so the event will also be a ‘40th Birthday Celebration’.

The focus this year is ‘Australia’s Sustainable Future – In The Pipeline!’ Keynote papers will include ‘40Years of Pigging and Pipelines – An International Perspective’, ‘Australia’s Economic Boom – Myths, Realities and the Challenges of Change’ and ‘Carbon Credits and Environmental Offsets – What This Means to the Pipeline Industry’.

Innovations and new developments in areas such as carbon dioxide pipelines, MIAB welding and testing and inspection will be discussed. A number of presentations on projects, including the DBNGP and QSN Link will update delegates.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about the latest products and services at the exhibition which will be the biggest in the event’s history. A number of networking events will enable vital business relationships to be developed or enhanced.

The event will also see the presentation of the 2008 APIA Safety Award. The award was designed to recognise achievements such as outstanding safety performance in the workplace; a unique innovation or initiative addressing a safety issue; and, a new and well-defined safety system, procedure or practice.
