Hydrotesting on APA Group’s 292 km Eastern Goldfields Gas Pipeline in Western Australia has been completed six weeks ahead of schedule.

Spiecapag Lucas – a joint venture between Spiecapag Australia and AJ Lucas – was awarded the construction contract for the pipeline, which commenced in March 2015, and made impressive time on the original eight-month schedule.

Project Director John Walsh told PPO News that the contractor is currently de-mobilising, with a few minor punchlist items remaining at the project, following a successful, injury-free run.

“We started construction in March of this year and the hydrotest was complete by the end of August, six weeks ahead of an eight-month schedule,” Mr Walsh said.

“We gained a month-and-a-half on the eight months, which is always good news. We are particularly proud of our safety performance on the project which was completed injury free, an achievement the entire project team can take great credit for.”
