Queensland Treasurer Andrew Fraser will lead a trade mission to Papua New Guinea (PNG) in March in a bid to develop new partnerships for PNG’s major projects including gas projects.
Mr Fraser said the trade mission will look to “support Papua New Guinea’s major projects and its projected growth in coming years.”
PNG is experiencing strong growth in sectors such as LNG and mining services, building and construction and education and training.
Mr Fraser said “With two major LNG projects worth a projected total of $A19 billion on PNG’s horizon and Far North Queensland companies already equipped to contribute to upcoming AusAID and Asian Development Bank PNG projects, the potential for local job creation and economic growth is substantial.”
