SA’s new Energy Minister welcomed by APPEA

In some good news for the SA gas industry, the Hon Dan van Holst Pellekaan was appointed as the state’s Minister for Energy and Mining on 22 March 2018.

The Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA) congratulated Mr van Holst Pellekaan on the appointment and welcomed the successful election of the new Liberal government on Saturday 17 March 2018.

APPEA’s Director of South Australia Matthew Doman commented that as the Shadow Minister, Mr van Holst Pellekaan had shown a willingness to support beneficial projects and that APPEA looked forward to working with the minister in his new position.

“Mr van Holst Pellekaan is an experienced Member of Parliament with a deep understanding of the industry and its importance to the South Australian economy.

“He also understands the vital role natural gas is playing in meeting the state’s outgoing energy needs,” Mr Doman said.
