IIR, in partnership with the Northern Territory Government, will host the South East Asia Australia Offshore Conference (SEAAOC) 2009 at the newly opened Darwin Convention Centre. For the first time, SEAAOC will be co-located with the Mining the Territory Conference to form NT Resources Week.

SEAAOC 2009 will include case studies, presentations, panel sessions, exhibitions and interactive workshops, covering topics ranging from political perspectives from key gas producers and customers to the infrastructure and regulatory requirements necessary to import Asia Pacific LNG to global markets.

Keynote presentations include:

  • Independent Consultant Tony Regan presenting on ‘Why the sudden flurry of interest in Coal Bed Methane? The potential and current state of play in Asia’.
  • Poten and Partners Manager Asia Pacific Daryl Houghton on ‘Understanding investment issues in floating LNG projects’.
  • Consultant to Endress+Hauser Dr Richard Furness on ‘Past problems in LNG metering and modern-day solutions’.
  • Honeywell Process Solutions Senior Advanced Process Control Engineer Hendrik Alberts on ‘Technical presentations on Advanced Process Control (APC) and optimisation from offshore wells to LNG tanks’.

Case studies presented at the conference will include an Ichthys project development update presented by INPEX General Manager Darwin Sean Kildare; ExxonMobil PNG Upstream Project Manager Decie Autin will address ‘A technical perspective on the PNG LNG Project’; and, Origin Energy Kupe Gas Project Director Peter Ashford will cover ‘Delivering results through the Kupe Gas Project Alliance’.

SEAAOC 2009 provides a unique opportunity for the gas sector to address the industry’s most pressing current issues, as well as enjoying the extensive networking and social program.
