The awards are being held as part of the 2013 FutureGAS Conference and Exhibition, which will be held from 12–14 March next year at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. They will be hosted at the event's Gala Dinner, which is sponsored by Comdain Infrastructure.

The 2013 categories include:

  • Gas Industry Innovation
  • Major Contributor
  • Project Management Excellence.

S.I.T. Gas Controls Managing Director Andrew Creek, one of the FutureGAS Awards judges, encourages nominations.

“The Australian Gas Industry is active and vibrant,” says Mr Creek. “There are many new challenges and projects underway that will add to the already impressive achievements of our industry.”

“The scope of these challenges is vast, covering all aspects of gas development and utilisation, and we have many thousands of people involved.

“The Australian gas industry has a long history of awards given in recognition of service and contribution.

“We encourage everyone who feels that they have given service or made a significant contribution in any area of the categories on offer to make an application by 16 November.

“I am looking forward to reviewing and deciding on my recommendation for the winners,” adds Mr Creek.
