Rotork CVA

The Rotork CVA electric control valve actuator provides an entirely electric solution for precise and repeatable control valve actuation, with programmable fail-to-position ability.

The CVA is available with IEC Ex certification, and it eliminates the need for instrument air, offering a low maintenance, economical alternative to pneumatics. Resolution figures are greater than 0.1 per cent and position overshoot is eliminated, enabling the process variable to be more accurately maintained.

Accurate and reliable valve control can help to maximise process quality and plant capacity. The CVA facilitates this kind of control with built-in data logging, providing diagnostics to reduce the risk of unplanned process interruption.

Its IP68 water-tight actuator design contains non-intrusive setting and commissioning technology that can be specified for linear and quarter-turn valve operation.

EMICO Trunnion Ball

The EMICO Trunnion Ball valve range includes new products with up-to-date design, material, manufacturing and testing techniques.

EMICO uses RPTFE, Devlon V and Peek seat insert material along with James Walker or DuPont AED O-ring seals when required, for anti-explosive decompression. The valves have relatively low torque requirements due to their design features, and their level of machining and finishing tolerance.

“Every Trunnion Ball valve is torque tested for reliable actuator sizing and consistent operation,” EMICO has said.

“Reliable Trunnion Ball valves are one of the most important safety components in a plant or pipeline, and it is the responsibility of the buyer and plant valve technician to make sure that every valve turns easily and seals in an emergency.

“Turning or cycling the Trunnion Ball valve periodically is just as important as injecting lubricant – ball and stem corrosion; poorly machined internals; tight bolting of the body and ends to arrest leakage at the time of seat pressure testing; these can all dramatically shorten the service life of the valve.”

The range is certified to international standards and authorities, including API 6D, API 607 Ed 5/ISO10497-5:2004, EN 10204-2004 3.1, TUV Rheinland and ISO 9001:2008. Its body forgings are available in most materials, including A105N, A350 LF2, F316L and F53 (as well as LF2 Group 1.1 material in compliance with yield strength of AS 2885.1-2007).

EMICO is currently expanding its development of a trunnion-mounted range for the Australian oil and gas market. Its valve manufacturing is now undertaken at five fully integrated valve factories.
