What are the issues keeping the east coast energy market executive awake at night?

In preparation for the 4th annual Eastern Australia’s Energy Markets Outlook (EAEMO) conference, Quest Events surveyed over 100 industry executives to determine the most critical issues facing their organisations, now and over the next 2–3 years.

The results highlight the complexity of Australia’s energy markets today, though one key issue consistently stands out among the rest:

How will gas supply/demand dynamics on the east coast change to the end of the decade?

In the current low oil price environment, with the east coast markets now linked with global markets through LNG export terminals in Queensland, and moratoriums slowing any further development in the two most populous states, this is THE question on the lips of energy executives today.

In order to address this, gas will be one of the front and centre issues at this year’s EAEMO 2015 conference, which will run from 15–18 September, with 18 September dedicated specifically to understanding the changing east coast demand and supply dynamics.

If your organisation will be impacted by changing gas prices, supply or demand fluctuations, then this is a not-to-be missed event.

Sponsorship opportunities for the 2015 event are available.

Last year’s event saw over 200 senior leaders from the length of the supply chain discuss and debate the outlook for the east coast energy sector. Speakers included executives from Origin, AGL, Transgrid, United Energy and Multinet Gas, Snowy Hydro, CS Energy, Ausnet Services, Alinta and Pacific Hydro, as well as the heads of all major industry associations including the Australian Industry (Ai) Group, Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA), Australian Pipelines and Gas Association (APGA, formerly APIA), Clean Energy Council (CEC), Energy Networks Australia (ENA), Energy Retailers Association of Australia (ERAA), Energy Supply Association of Australia (ESAA) and the Energy Users Association of Australia (EUAA).

The Eastern Australia’s Energy Markets Outlook 2015 conference is an outstanding opportunity for energy industry solution and service providers to showcase their products and services to a targeted and high profile gathering of senior-level decision makers within Australia’s energy industry.
