Wood Group has secured its second front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for Woodside’s proposed Browse floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) development offshore Western Australia.

Effective immediately, Wood Group Kenny (WGK) will progress the configuration design of the flexible risers and umbilicals for the asset’s offshore gas-condensate fields - Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa.

Wood Group commenced a contract earlier this year for the subsea flowline FEED with Woodside for the development, located 300 km from the Kimberly coast. The 12 month contract was valued at US$6 million (AU$8.3 million).

Bob MacDonald, CEO of Wood Group Kenny, said “This second contract win further builds on Wood Group’s 30 year relationship with Woodside.”

He added “The project presents deep water challenges, which Wood Group Kenny is well positioned to tackle.”

This is the second contract to be awarded by Woodside in as many days. On 9 December a joint venture between Monadelphous Group and Giovenco Industries secured a new contract for services on the Woodside-operated Karratha Gas Plant life extension program in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
