Woodside completes Scarborough acquisition

Woodside Energy has completed the acquisition of ExxonMobil’s 50 per cent interest in WA-1-R off the coast of Western Australia, containing a majority of the Scarborough gas field.

With the acquisition completed, Woodside now holds a 75 per cent interest in WA-1-R and a 50 per cent interest in WA-61-R, WA-62-R and WA-63-R.

These leases include the Scarborough, Thebe and Jupiter gas fields and are estimated to contain gross 9.2 Tcf of dry gas resources, raising Woodside’s Best Estimate contingent resouces (2C) from 640 MMboe to 5,652 MMboe.

Discovered in 1979, the Scarborough field is located off the coast of WA, approximately 220 km northwest of Exmouth in 900 m of water.
