Woodside Petroleum is on track to recommence production at its Pluto LNG Plant in Western Australia after a submersible drilling rig drifted near Pluto’s subsea infrastructure, causing a temporary shut-in.

The Atwood Osprey semi-submersible drilling unit caused the suspension after parting several mooring lines and drifting approximately 5.5 km from its original position during Cyclone Olwyn, which hit the north-west coast of Australia on March 12.

The rig has since been stabilised with a support vessel in position.
